I brought a little something back from Vietnam on this trip. Eu trouxe de volta um pouco do Vietnã alguma coisa sobre esta viagem. Guess who is this for? Adivinhe que é para este? Don’t be too smart about it though. Não será demasiado inteligente sobre ele embora.

I reckon that by the time I post this, I would have arrived in Singapore. Eu contar o tempo em que eu posto isto, eu teria chegado em Singapura. My day started at 03:30hrs. Meu dia começou a 03:30 hrs. Rose from bed and did the usual routine as I did every morning. Rose de cama e fez a habitual rotina como eu fiz todas as manhãs. The only difference this morning was I had to be ready in 50 minutes or less. A única diferença foi esta manhã eu tinha que estar pronto em 50 minutos ou menos. The airport taxi was on it’s way and expected to arrive at 04:30hrs. O aeroporto foi táxi em curso e que é esperado para se chegar às 04:30 hrs. Besides leaving some business shirts behind so I do not have to pack them for my next trip, everything else went into my luggage short of my aromatherapy burner. Além de deixar para trás alguns negócios camisas para que eu não tenho a embalagem-los para a minha próxima viagem, tudo o resto foi parar na minha bagagem da minha curta aromaterapia queimador. See… I never fail to forget something each time I travel. Veja… Eu nunca deixar de esquecer algo cada vez que eu viajar.

The taxi ride to the airport took about 40 minutes even with few cars on the road at that hour. O táxi até o aeroporto teve cerca de 40 minutos, mesmo com poucos carros na estrada em que hora. It had to do with the speed limit of no more than 60km/hr. Ela tinha a ver com o limite de velocidade de não mais de 60km/hr. I am pretty sure, any Singaporean driver would have covered the distance in 20 minutes or less. Estou bastante seguro de que, qualquer singapurenses motorista teria coberto a distância em 20 minutos ou menos. Anyway, I reached the airport and proceeded to check-in. De qualquer maneira, eu alcancei o aeroporto e avançou para check-in. Somehow, there was some confusion with my ticket. De alguma forma, houve uma certa confusão com o meu bilhete. My colleague had confirmed my 06:30 flight via HCMC to Singapore and also put me on wait list for a 10:30 flight direct from Hanoi to Singapore. O meu colega tinha confirmado o meu voo 06:30 via HCMC a Singapura e também colocou-me a esperar por uma lista 10:30 voo directo a partir de Hanói para Cingapura. Common sense tells me that since my 06:30 flight had been confirmed, I would be taken off wait list on the 10:30 flight. O senso comum diz-me que, uma vez que o meu vôo tinha sido confirmada 06:30, gostaria de ser retirado da lista à espera 10:30 voo. The officer at the check-in desk informed me that my 06:30 flight had been cancelled. O funcionário no balcão de check-in 06:30 informou-me que o meu vôo tinha sido cancelado.

So there I was, at the airport at 05:30 in the morning with my luggage and I’m being told my 06:30 flight has been cancelled and I have be placed on the 10:30 flight instead. Então, eu estava lá, no aeroporto em 05:30 da manhã com a minha bagagem, e eu estou sendo dito 06:30 meu voo foi cancelado e eu tenho ser colocados no vôo 10:30 vez. With half my brains still in bed, I remained calmed and asked the nice lady “what should I do in the next 5 hours?” I guess it was then she realised that it didn’t quite make sense. Com meia meu cérebro ainda na cama, me manteve acalmou e pediu à senhora simpática "o que devo fazer nos próximos 5 horas?" Eu acho que ele foi, então, ela percebeu que ele não faça muito sentido. So as helpful as she was, she started running in and out of the back office for the next 15 minutes. Assim como útil como ela era, ela começou a correr em volta e fora do escritório para os próximos 15 minutos. Finally, after speaking to a superior, she managed to put me back on the 06:30 flight so we were all happy. Finalmente, depois de falar com um superior, ela conseguiu colocar-me sobre a 06:30 vôo de volta para que todos estavam felizes.

Arriving in the HCMC airport, I couldn’t help but notice the huge difference. Chegando no aeroporto HCMC, eu não poderia ajudar, mas o anúncio enorme diferença. Though slightly better lit, the international airport in Hanoi reminded me of that in Jakarta. Embora ligeiramente melhor iluminadas, o aeroporto internacional em Hanói lembrou-me de que, em Jacarta. As for the HCMC international airport, it looked like any modern airport. No que diz respeito ao HCMC aeroporto internacional, ela se parecia como qualquer moderno aeroporto. Goes to show the stark contrast between lifestyles in Hanoi and HCMC. Vai para mostrar o contraste gritante entre os estilos de vida em Hanói e HCMC. Hanoi being the government capital, is much more laid back and you might just get that rustic feeling amidst all the noisy traffic and zipping motorcycles. Hanói sendo o governo capital, é muito mais descontraídos e você só obter esse sentimento rústico em meio a todos os ruidosos tráfego zipar e motociclos.

HCMC on the other hand being the financial capital of the country boost better infrastructure. HCMC por outro lado sendo a capital financeira do país impulsionar uma melhor infra-estrutura. Buildings are more modern and unlike Hanoi, you can actually see the road markings if you get what I mean. Os edifícios são mais modernos e ao contrário Hanói, você pode realmente ver a estrada marcações se você conseguir o que quero dizer. Heck, even the immigration officers had better looking uniforms in HCMC. Heck, até mesmo os oficiais de imigração tiveram melhor procurando uniformes em HCMC.

Flying business class on Vietnam Airlines is very different from flying economy class. Voando a classe empresarial Vietnã Airlines é muito diferente de voar na classe econômica. On business class, you get the usual; wider seats and more legroom. Na classe executiva, você começa a habitual; lugares mais amplo e mais legroom. The real kickback would be that you finally get some level of service. O verdadeiro kickback seria que você finalmente obter algum nível de serviço. The cabin crew speak better English and the food did tasted slightly better though I’m still not a big fan of airline food except for ice-cream. A tripulação de cabina falam Inglês e da melhor comida fez saborear um pouco melhor embora eu ainda não sou um grande fã da companhia aérea alimentares à excepção dos gelados. On economy class, I’d usually get that ‘duh’ look from cabin crew when I speak to them in English. Em classe económica, eu normalmente obter esse 'cara' olhar de tripulação de cabina quando eu falo a eles em Inglês. More often than not, they’d have to bring another colleague who understood a little more English to figure out that I just wanted some nuts to go with my beer. Muitas vezes, eles têm de trazer um outro colega que compreendeu um pouco mais de Inglês para descobrir que eu só queria ir para algum nozes com a minha cerveja. In any case, apart from the legroom and wider seats, I’d still stick to flying economy class on Singapore Airlines; if I had to choose that is. Em todo o caso, além do mais vasto e legroom lugares, eu ainda stick para voar na classe econômica em Singapura Airlines; se eu tivesse que escolher que seja. There no in-flight entertainment on Vietnam Airlines apart from watching the stewardess as they walk by in they uniforms… Não existe em voo entretenimento no Vietnã Airlines para além de assistir a stewardess como eles passeio por eles em fardas…

Ok, so it’s 1 hour and 40 minutes from Hanoi to HCMC. Ok, por isso é 1 hora e 40 minutos de Hanói para HCMC. Then there’sa 1 hour waiting time in transit which I spent in the business class lounge. Então há 1 hora esperando tempo em trânsito que passei na classe executiva lounge. Followed by the final leg of my trip back to Singapore which will take another 1 hour and 45 minutes or so. Seguido do troço final da minha viagem de volta para Singapura, que terá mais 1 hora e 45 minutos, aproximadamente. There after, it’sa 30 minutes taxi ride back home. Existe depois, é um 30 minutos de táxi para casa. I just wasted a whole day travelling. Eu apenas desperdiçado um dia inteiro viajando. Oh heck, it’sa public holiday tomorrow anyway. Oh Parreira, é um feriado amanhã qualquer maneira.
