Hijacked Ads on blog

I was over at the Yeepage and I realised that I had the same problem last weekend. Think it was Saturday morning that I noticed the huge search page loading above the header of my blog. I had the same thought that someone may have gained entry to my cPanel or sorts and immediately went forth to change my login passwords.

After I did that, I did a line by line scrutiny of the codes on my blog. You can do this very easily if your have Firefox loaded as your browser.

  1. Launch Firefox
  2. Load your blog (go to the URL)
  3. Right-click anywhere on the page
  4. Scroll down to ‘View Page Info’
  5. Select it

I immediately noticed that one of the plugins that I was using on WordPress (WP-SEO-Master v0.95) was trying to force a code on the very first line and creating an error on the second line.

I would have logged in to my WP dashboard to disable the plugin but the error on the second line was preventing me from doing so. Instead, I decided to login to cPanel, look for the plugin folder, and deleted the plugin. Problem solved after that. I strongly suggest that you stay away from the above plugin.
